Why A Book Blog?

Why A Book Blog? Simple question right? Wrong. Its not that simple. Some might create a blog because its summer and they are really bored. Well maybe I'm a little bored but that is not the reason for this blog. I created Gabby's Book Blog (such a unique title) because well, I have always loved reading. Recently I also saw the blog Chick Lit Teens, which is by a girl around my age and it inspired me to share my love of reading with the world. I go through books so fast, and I can never have enough. I could spend hours at a bookstore and never be bored. I always used them as an escape because I'm not going to deny it, my family is a mess. And it is hard, so I used that. Some people might use drugs, alcohol, or even sex to escape their problems. For me, it was reading. I loved to escape my problems and focus on something else. It could be a mystical place, where faeries, dragons, and mermaids exist. It could be a Island in the middle of the ocean. It could be an ordinary girl focusing on her own issues. I still love books, but now they are not an escape they are a joy. I do not use them to hide, I worship them. I am on goodreads.com, which is basically a facebook for books. I am friends with Sarah Dessen and other authors. I guess, I just figured a book blog was next. I wanted to share my love of reading with the world. I wanted to be able to help young readers make good decisions about the type of books they read. Now I will admit this at times I can be inappropriate(hint, hint the drug alcohol sex comment) but I will try to use a filter. I am 15 years old, and I want to share my love of reading with the world. I hope people will read my blog, and be persuaded to read new amazing books, and be satisfied. Thanks, Gabby

10 in '10 Chick Lit Challenge

Hey guys, I joined 10 in '10 Chick Lit Challenge! I have a feeling I'm gonna pass the 10 really fast though because I already have read 3. Now thats schools out, I can stop slacking and just curl up with a good book! If you want to know more about the 10 in '10 Chick Lit Challenge check out this link! http://www.chicklitteens.com/2009/12/10-in-10-teen-chick-lit-challenge.html
ChickLitTeens is an awesome review blog, and I actually had already read book 1, 4, and 6 before I noticed the blog. I read some entries on the blog and realized that the author had a similar taste in books. So check out the blog at this website http://www.chicklitteens.com/

Here is My 10 in '10 List! Probably will increase, but enjoy what I have so far! Also does anyone know how to do the cross out thing! I don't know how and I don't know how to mark when I have read a book. They are in no particular order, just the ones I thought of or found. Thanks, Gabby
